International Council of Beverages Associations Announces Election of New Officers

Today the International Council of Beverages Associations released the following statement regarding the election of new officers:

 

“The International Council of Beverages Associations, the global voice for the non-alcoholic beverage industry, today announced the election of Jorge Terrazas Ornelas, director general of La Asociación Nacional de Productores de Refresecos y Aguas Carbonatadas A. C. (ANPRAC), to the presidency. Mr. Terrazas is joined by Gavin Partington, director general, British Soft Drinks Association (BSDA), who will serve as ICBA vice-president. 

 

“We are pleased to see that ICBA is well-positioned for future growth with the combined leadership of Mr. Terrazas and Mr. Partington.  With their extensive experience in two key markets for our industry—Mexico and the UK respectively, they will be an innovative and strong voice for shaping our dynamic global agenda” said Alexandre Jobim, immediate past president of ICBA and president, Associação Brasileira das Indústrias de Refrigerantes e de Bebidas Não Alcoólica.

 

From 2017-2019, Mr. Terrazas served as the vice-president of ICBA and was instrumental in developing the ICBA Latin American Regional Group. “Mr. Terrazas has been a guiding force for global industry collaboration for the past five years.  We are very grateful to Mr. Jobim for setting a solid foundation for ICBA on the global stage and look forward to working closely with Mr. Terrazas and Mr. Partington to take this agenda forward over the next couple years” said Kate Loatman, executive director of ICBA. 

Mr. Terrazas has led ANPRAC as director general for 5 years, and prior to that was vice-president of institutional relations at BACARDI, a board member representing Mexico at the World Bank and chief of staff to the Minister of Finance.  Mr. Partington, who is a former journalist and experienced public relations consultant joined the BSDA as director general in October 2012.  He also serves as Vice-President of the European Federation of Bottled Waters.”
