Andrés Massieu

Based in Mexico, Andrés Massieu assumed the role of President of the International Council of Beverages Associations (ICBA) in May 2025, succeeding Nicholas Hodac, Director General of UNESDA, who served as ICBA President from May 2023 to May 2025.

Since 2021, Andrés has served as Director General of the Mexican Beverage Association. He is also Vice President of Beverages for the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States and a member of the National Board of the Business Coordinating Council. He also held the position of Director General of the National Chamber of the Radio and Television Industry.

From 2019 to 2020, Andrés served as Secretary of Urban and Metropolitan Development for the Government of the State of Mexico. Between 2012 and 2018, he held several senior positions in the Office of the President of Mexico, including Head of Governmental Strategy and Communication, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, and Chief of Staff for Political and Government Affairs. In 2012, following the presidential election, he was appointed Head of Institutional Identity for the Presidential Transition Team. From 2009 to 2012, he served as a Federal Deputy (Congressman). Earlier in his career, between 2000 and 2006, he held various positions in the Government of the State of Mexico, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Office of the President.

He holds a law degree and a master’s degree in Public Administration, as well as advanced diplomas in Strategic Political Analysis, Political and Electoral Institutions, and Quality Professional Service.

Krista Scaldwell

Krista Scaldwell serves as Vice President of the International Council of Beverages Associations (ICBA). Based in Canada, she currently holds the position of President of the Canadian Beverage Association, a role she assumed in 2022, having previously served on the association’s Board of Directors from 2014 to 2017.

Krista is a senior communications and public affairs executive with extensive experience across the pharmaceuticals, consumer packaged goods, and financial services sectors. Over the course of her career, she has held progressively senior roles at leading Fortune 500 companies, including more than 12 years of operating committee experience. In recognition of her leadership, she was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Women of Influence by the Women’s Executive Network in 2020.

In addition to her executive roles, Krista has served on numerous non-profit boards over the past two decades and currently serves as a Governor of Trent University.

Mpho Thothela

Mpho Thothela serves as Vice President of the International Council of Beverages Associations (ICBA) and is the Executive Director of the Beverages Association of South Africa, a role he has held since 2018.

An admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, Mpho brings extensive experience in corporate affairs, legal and compliance, and stakeholder engagement across both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining BEVSA, he served as Executive Director of Corporate Affairs at Muhari Logistics and previously held the position of Chief Officer for Membership, Legal and Compliance, as well as Company Secretary at Proudly South Africa.

Earlier in his career, Mpho was Legal Manager at the South African Football Association, and subsequently served as Legal Manager for the FIFA 2010 World Cup Organising Committee. He also spent nearly eight years at Deloitte, where he held roles in the Forensic Auditing and Management Consulting divisions.
