May 8, 2025 (WASHINGTON, DC) - The International Council of Beverages Associations (ICBA), the global voice for the non-alcoholic beverage industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrés Massieu as its new President, effective immediately.

Based in Mexico, Andrés Massieu brings deep expertise in public policy, communications and industry leadership. Since 2021, he has served as Director General and recently as Executive President of the Mexican Beverage Association (MexBeb) and currently serves as Vice President of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of Mexico (CONCAMIN). He has also held several public and senior governmental roles, including Federal Congressman and Chief of Staff for Political and Government Affairs in the Office of the President of Mexico.

“I am honored and excited to take on the role of President of ICBA for the upcoming term. It is a privilege to represent an industry that plays such a vital role in the global marketplace and in the lives of millions of consumers every day.

Over the next two years, I look forward to working closely with our members all around the world to advance our shared goals. I am confident that, through collaboration and innovation, we will continue to strengthen our position as a forward-thinking and constructive industry,” said Mr. Massieu.

In addition to the appointment of Mr. Massieu, ICBA is grateful for the leadership of its Vice Presidents:

  • Krista Scaldwell, President of the Canadian Beverage Association, who brings years of senior experience in communications and public affairs across leading global firms. A recognized leader in Canada’s business community, she was named one of the country’s Top 100 Women of Influence in 2020.
  • Mpho Thothela, Executive Director of the Beverages Association of South Africa, is a seasoned legal and corporate affairs professional, who is joining ICBA as a new Vice President this May. He brings significant expertise in stakeholder engagement and governance, developed through leadership roles in both the private and public sectors.
