The global non-alcoholic beverage industry recognizes the need for action to achieve global goals for reducing premature mortality from non-communicable diseases (“NCDs”), as part of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all.

The global non-alcoholic beverage industry understands the challenges consumers face trying to build and maintain healthy dietary patterns and are invested in helping reduce NCDs and advance the Global Goals. Our industry continues to innovate to help offer more choices with low- or no- sugar beverage options accompanied with clear information about the safety of our products and nutritional composition.

We believe nutrition policy should be grounded in nutrition science and based on the totality of scientific evidence and that is why our industry is committed to working with governments, civil society and other stakeholders to develop whole-of-society approaches that ensure safety, affordability, access, and innovation. Working toward shared public health goals, ICBA adopted our Nutrition Policy Principles in July 2026 to offer guiding principles to develop successful nutrition policy frameworks.
